Introduction

The D.D.G 19 is a self-loading 9x19mm pistol that is patterned after the famous Glock model 19 9x19mm self-loading pistol. The D.D.G is “produced” by the ghost company known as Delta Defense Group (D.D.G). The D.D.G 19 is not only patterned after the Glock 19, but the D.D.G 19 is strikingly similar to the Emtan Ramon 9x19mm pistol that is produced by Emtan Karmiel Ltd. in Israel.

The D.D.G 19 has became infamous amongst firearms analysts due to its presence on the Iraqi & Syrian black markets, as well as its use by Kurdish Commandos in the autonomous Kurdistan region in northern Iraq (KRG). In this post, we will briefly discuss some of the physical characteristics D.D.G 19 pistols, as well as compare the D.D.G 19 to the Emtan Ramon. D.D.G 19 in detail & comparison to Ramon

Like the Glock 19 (3rd generation) & the Emtan Ramon, the D.D.G 19’s frame is made of a injection molded reinforced polymer & is a “three pin” style of frame. Unlike the Glock 19, the D.D.G 19 features a three slot 1913 picatinny accessory rail.

As can be seen by these photos and videos, the D.D.G 19 pistols are extremely similar to the Emtan Ramon. In my opinion, the D.D.G 19 pistol is either produced by Emtan in Israel, or the D.D.G 19 is produced elsewhere under license by Emtan (such as in KRG). There is also a possibility that the parts are produced in Israel, and then assembled elsewhere. The biggest difference between the D.D.G 19 & the Ramon (besides the markings), is the simplified slide. This somewhat makes sense, as the fancy machining present on the Ramon is not completely necessary on a combat pistol. I have found no substantial proof that the D.D.G 19 (& other D.D.G branded firearms) are 100% produced without any Israeli involvement, and most of the evidence I have found and cataloged points at D.D.G being a ghost company that was likely created by the Israeli government.
